Weight Management

A Personalized, Evidence-Based Approach to a Healthier Weight

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight isn’t always as simple as eating less and exercising more.

Hormonal changes, metabolism, genetics, age, sleep, lifestyle, medications, and other factors can all influence body composition and make weight management increasingly challenging—particularly during perimenopause and menopause.

At Aesthetic Genesis, weight management begins with understanding you.

Our goal is to create an individualized, medically guided plan that helps you achieve a healthier weight while supporting your overall health, energy, confidence, and quality of life.

More Than a Number on the Scale

Weight is only one part of the picture.

Successful weight management is about improving health, preserving lean muscle, supporting metabolic health, and developing an approach that can be maintained over time.

Your treatment plan begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, current health, medications, weight history, lifestyle, goals, and factors that may be making weight management more difficult.

When appropriate, laboratory testing may also be recommended.

Medical Weight Management

For appropriate patients, prescription medication may be incorporated into a comprehensive weight-management plan.

Zepbound® (tirzepatide) is one of the primary medications we use for patients who meet appropriate criteria. Zepbound is an FDA-approved medication for chronic weight management in eligible adults and works by targeting pathways involved in appetite and food intake.

Medication can be a powerful tool, but it is only one part of successful weight management. Treatment should also address nutrition, physical activity, preservation of lean muscle, and the habits necessary to support long-term health and weight maintenance.

During your consultation, we’ll review your health history, previous weight-management efforts, goals, and the potential benefits and risks of treatment to determine whether Zepbound—or another approach—is appropriate for you.

Weight, Hormones & Midlife

For many women, maintaining a healthy weight becomes more challenging during perimenopause and menopause.

Changes in hormones, sleep, body composition, and the way fat is distributed can all contribute to changes in weight and waist circumference during midlife.

Rather than viewing these concerns in isolation, we consider the broader picture—including hormonal health, lifestyle, body composition, and overall well-being.

When appropriate, weight management can be incorporated into your broader perimenopause, menopause, or hormone therapy plan.

Protecting Muscle Matters

Healthy weight loss isn’t simply about losing pounds.

Preserving lean muscle is especially important as we age because muscle plays an essential role in strength, mobility, metabolic health, and long-term function.

That’s why nutrition, adequate protein intake, and resistance exercise are important components of a comprehensive weight-management strategy.

The goal isn’t simply to weigh less.

It’s to become healthier and stronger while achieving a weight that supports your long-term well-being.

Ongoing Support

Weight management isn’t a quick fix. It is a process.

Your needs may change throughout treatment, which is why ongoing follow-up is an important part of the process.

We’ll monitor your progress, response to treatment, potential side effects, and overall health and make adjustments when appropriate.

Our goal is to help you develop an approach that supports not only weight loss, but long-term weight maintenance and healthy aging.

Your Health. Your Goals. Your Plan.

There is no single “ideal” weight-management plan that works for everyone.

Your care should reflect your body, your health, your goals, and your life.

If you’ve struggled to achieve or maintain a healthier weight—or have noticed changes in your body during perimenopause or menopause—we’re here to help you understand your options and develop a personalized path forward.
